Privacy Policy

Effective: August 10, 2026 · Last updated: August 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how LHL GLOBAL LLC ("LHL GLOBAL," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in Chef AI, listed on the App Store as AI Chef: Meal Planner (the "App"), and on this website.

1. A local-first app with optional accounts

You can use the App without creating an account. In local-only mode, your workspace is stored on your device. If you sign in and choose to connect your device data, selected user-owned data can be backed up and synchronized through our cloud services. Connecting data is a user choice; signing in does not by itself authorize every local item to be uploaded.

2. Information we handle

Information you provide

  • Account and authentication information: email address, provider identity information returned by Sign in with Apple or Google sign-in, account identifiers, confirmation status, and limited profile information such as a display name. Apple may provide a relay email address if you choose Hide My Email.
  • Household and cooking profile: household size, serving preferences, cooking preferences, favorite cuisines or methods, dietary restrictions, allergies, disliked foods, and related recommendation settings.
  • Nutrition information: nutrition goals and other information you enter to personalize nutrition planning. Nutrition information may be sensitive; please enter only what you are comfortable storing in the App.
  • Cooking and planning content: saved, created, imported, or AI-generated recipes; recipe notes and favorites; cookbook collections; pantry items and optional pantry photos; meal plans; shopping lists; planned nutrition; and cooking history.
  • Support communications: information you choose to include when contacting support.

Information generated through use

  • AI requests and outputs: prompts, selected ingredients, preferences, constraints, source-recipe evidence, images you submit for pantry recognition, and generated recipes, meal plans, suggestions, or extraction results when you use AI features.
  • Recipe-import information: a public webpage URL you select, content or structured recipe evidence from that page, import provenance, and diagnostics needed to extract and review a recipe.
  • Cloud and synchronization information: workspace identifiers, stable record identifiers, revisions, change queues, deletion markers, conflict state, and timestamps needed to back up, restore, merge, and synchronize connected account data.
  • Diagnostics and security information: app operation, error category, counts, duration, coarse environment and service status, and similar technical data used to secure and troubleshoot the App. Our infrastructure and service providers may also process ordinary network information such as IP address, request time, and device or browser information.
  • Subscription information: product and entitlement status, offering or package, renewal or expiration status, trial status, and restore results when subscription support is enabled. Apple processes App Store payments; we do not receive or store your complete payment-card number or CVV.

3. How we use information

We use information to provide local cooking and planning features; authenticate accounts; personalize recommendations; generate and import recipes; calculate and display planned nutrition; synchronize user-owned data when requested; prevent duplicate or cross-account data access; provide subscription status and restore functionality; diagnose failures; protect the service; respond to support and privacy requests; and comply with legal obligations.

4. Service providers and other recipients

We disclose information to service providers only as needed for the relevant feature. Depending on the features you use and how the App is configured, these providers may include:

  • Supabase for authentication, user-owned cloud storage, synchronization, and server-side functions.
  • Apple for Sign in with Apple, App Store distribution, payment processing, subscriptions, refunds, and related store services.
  • Google for Google sign-in.
  • RevenueCat for subscription customer, product, entitlement, and restore management when RevenueCat billing is enabled. Chef AI uses the authenticated account identifier to coordinate the RevenueCat customer; it does not use your email address as the billing identity.
  • OpenAI for configured AI generation, recipe extraction or repair, recipe search assistance, and pantry-image recognition.
  • Recipe and search providers, which may include Edamam, FatSecret, Brave Search, Spoonacular, and public recipe publishers, when a configured search, discovery, nutrition, or import feature calls them. Data sent depends on the request, and provider-sourced previews may be treated as transient or reference-only under applicable licensing terms.
  • Resend and related email infrastructure for account verification messages.
  • Cloudflare for routing and sending public support email.
  • Vercel, if this public website is deployed there, for website hosting and ordinary request/security logs.

Service providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices. They may process information in countries other than yours.

5. Sale, advertising, and website tracking

The current Chef AI implementation does not include advertising networks, behavioral-advertising trackers, or data-broker integrations, and we do not sell personal information for money or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. This website has no analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, forms, or nonessential cookies.

6. Storage and retention

Local workspace data remains on your device until you remove content, remove applicable app/device data, or use an available deletion control. Operating-system secure storage can behave differently from ordinary app storage, including across reinstall, so uninstalling alone should not be treated as a guaranteed account-deletion method.

Connected cloud data is retained while your account is active and as needed to provide synchronization, restore, security, legal compliance, and dispute handling. Synchronization deletion markers may be retained to prevent deleted records from reappearing. Processor logs, backups, billing records, and support correspondence follow operational, legal, and provider retention requirements. Transient provider results and caches may use shorter, provider-specific retention rules. We do not promise immediate deletion from every backup or provider system.

7. Your choices and controls

  • Use Chef AI without an account and keep a separate local workspace.
  • Choose whether to connect eligible device data to an account.
  • Edit or delete individual recipes, pantry items, plans, shopping items, nutrition settings, and profile information through available App controls.
  • Sign out without deleting your cloud account data.
  • Delete your Chef AI account from Sign-In & Security. After authenticated remote deletion succeeds, the App offers a choice to keep a local copy in the guest workspace or also remove that account workspace from the device. Shared catalog and provider cache data is not part of your account deletion.
  • Manage or cancel App Store subscriptions separately through Apple. Deleting a Chef AI account does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription.
  • Contact us to ask a privacy question or request assistance. We may need to verify your identity before acting on an account request.

8. Security

Chef AI uses safeguards such as transport security for hosted connections, operating-system secure storage for native authentication sessions, access controls and row-level ownership rules for private cloud data, and restrictions on sensitive diagnostic logging. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, and Chef AI is not end-to-end encrypted. Please protect your device and account access.

9. Children’s privacy

Chef AI is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly seek personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action. Local law may set a different minimum age or require parental consent.

10. International processing

LHL GLOBAL and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live. We use providers and contractual or operational safeguards appropriate to the service and applicable law.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Chef AI or applicable requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and update the date above. If a change materially affects how we handle information, we will provide additional notice when appropriate.
